We had to replace our septic tank (the old one was corroded and crumbling!) and our neighbors had used and loved KCS- we are so glad we went with them. Our entire neighborhood is septic, and the KCS folks knew our street well! Bryan is a get-right-to-business, straight-shooter (love it!) who came to our property to give us a bid and discuss- he was super transparent about the fact that with septic tanks, you don't know the full scope until you really get in there. So we were given a minimum bid with the transparency that it would likely cost more once they had begun and could really see everything- the cost did increase, but the new charges were explained to us in writing (Steve in the office is a terrific communicator, and very kind), and made sense to us. There was some accidental small property damage (one path light got broken, and some rose bushes taken out), and Bryan was totally willing to cut us a break on the total bill that was enough to replace these small items, which is all we asked. *Tip*: Make sure you transplant your important plants and move yard fixtures before the project, even if you think they are in the safe zone outside of the area- the machinery covered more ground on our property than we expected. Our experience with Bryan and his team at KCS started a few months ago when we were negotiating the purchase of our house, which needed a new septic system. Other folks I called to get bids tried to offer estimates without even seeing the property, but Bryan asked to meet me at the house that afternoon. Not only did he get me a quote in time for us to close as scheduled, it was also reasonable, and it matched the engineer's specs (seriously, I had to point out the interceptor drain to another contractor). He is professional, easy to work with, and he kept in mind my priority of preserving the one tree in the backyard. He responded to my calls and texts promptly, and he took care of virtually every detail, from obtaining the permits to the city's final inspection. After all the stress of negotiating and closing on the house, the septic system install felt like a breeze. We had an incredible experience working with KCS to resolve issues with our septic system that had been installed by a different company before we bought our house. Due to our budget and the nature of our septic problems, we had the work on our system done in two phases, and from the first time he came to our house 9 months ago, through the completion of all the work we needed to get the system functioning correctly this week, Bryan was so helpful. He made us feel comfortable as we dealt with an unfortunate situation. He and his team excavated and reset our pump tank, completely redid the manifolds for our drip fields and corrected several other issues with the pipes going into and out of the septic tank. After 4 years of battling a faulty system plagued by issues, we finally feel at ease and confident that we have a quality system that will work correctly.
